What makes sourdough mate proving bannetons better than others? They are handcrafted using only sustainable bamboo or often referred to as rattan. No harsh chemicals are used in the production compared to alternative plastic bannetons. Constructed with hidden stainless steel staples they will not rust or discolour. All our cane bannetons come with 100% natural linen with quality stitching & custom made to fit snug.
Proving dough is a key part of making beautiful breads. It develops flavour and texture and is an important step to get right, from maintaining the correct temperature to supporting the final dough while it develops.
Our cane baskets and linen liners are a natural product and may contain naturally occurring pigments, which from time to time have slight variations in colour, appearance, and consistency throughout the bowl.

This kit comes with everything I needed to start from scratch and the flour is top quality. I had to buy a fermentation box to keep my starter a consistent temperature in this colder weather but after that, my sourdough was delicious!
